A White Detailing Cloth Solves a Different Problem
Most detailing failures happen at the last step, not the first. A cloth that drags across fresh clear coat, sheds pile onto glass, or hides what it has just picked up turns a finished car into a re-polish job. This white chamois cloth for car detailing is built for that last step: a dense chamois pile on a microfiber base, cut from a 150 cm roll in 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 mm, and supplied white so the cloth itself reports what it took off the paint.
- ✓Chamois pile face, no woven loops to catch on a polished panel
- ✓White ground: compound dust, tar and interior soil read immediately
- ✓Cut edge instead of a sewn hem, so the border cannot scratch trim
- ✓150 cm roll, cut to your own piece sizes rather than a fixed towel
Engineered as a working cloth for body shops, reconditioning bays and pre-delivery centres.
Reading a Swatch Before You Cut
Ask for the gauge you intend to order and run it on a spare panel before anything is cut. Three things surface in that first pass, and none of them surface in a photo.
Pile against the finish is the first. A pile that runs long skates over a panel and leaves the compound where it was; one that runs short loads up and needs a fresh piece every metre. The gauge decides that, not the fibre name on the label.
The second is what the cloth gives away. On a white ground, old wax and compound dust appear the moment they lift. A dark cloth takes the same load into the surface, where it travels to the next panel and nobody sees it happen.
The third is the edge. Unhemmed is the point: a stitched border is what drags across a windscreen and catches on trim. Run the cut edge across the back of your hand - if it snags there, it will snag on paint.
Current Product Information and Buyer Confirmation
The table lists what is fixed on this construction today. Items left open are agreed per order and written into the specification sheet, not assumed from a catalogue.

Four Places a White Chamois Cloth Pays for Itself
Paint Wipe-Down
After compounding, before the last step. On a chamois cloth for car detailing this is the pass that decides whether a panel has to be re-polished: dust and polish residue come off without a fresh towel every metre.
Glass and Mirrors
Take the 0.8 mm gauge for glass. A white chamois for glass and mirror work follows the curvature of a windscreen and reaches into the corners of a mirror housing, with no hem to drag.
Light Interior Trim
Ivory, cream and beige leather or plastic: a white cloth shows transfer of dye, sunscreen or dirt before it sets into the grain.
Pre-Delivery Check
One fresh white piece per car makes the final inspection repeatable across a shift, and shows the supervisor what came off.
Pile, Edge and Cut in Detail
The cloth is a microfiber non-woven base impregnated with PU, finished with a fine chamois pile. That combination is what lets the same piece carry water across a panel and then finish dry, without the surface going stiff between passes.
A chamois cloth for car detailing is only as good as its cut, and the cut is the part buyers usually leave to the supplier. Because the roll runs 150 cm wide, the piece size is your decision rather than ours: a 30 cm square for glass, a larger panel cloth for body work, or a long strip for wheel arches. Cut edges are left unhemmed, so nothing stitched can catch on trim.
White is the working colour for this page. It is also the most demanding: any soil shows, which is exactly why it belongs in a final inspection step rather than in a bucket of dirty water.
The First Order, and What Gets Written Down
Nobody buys a cloth off a web page. The usual path is smaller than that.
You name the gauge and the piece size. We send A4 swatches freight collect, and you run one on a car already sitting in the bay - not on a demo panel on a stand. If the pile behaves on that car, the same specification goes onto the order: gauge, colour, cut size, packing, and the roll is slit against it.
The part worth writing down is the check itself. Two buyers can test the same cloth and reach opposite answers when nobody has said what counts as a pass on absorbency, on lint, or on the edge. Fix that on paper first and the batch debate disappears.
Documents and Material Evidence
What can be put in front of a buyer today, and what has to be ordered per project. The mill itself is documented on the site: see our factory tour and the certificate register, which lists each certificate by standard, number and issue date.
REACH SVHC Screening
Intertek report no. SZHH01505701 was run on WINIW microfiber material and returned all screened SVHC substances below the 0.1% declaration limit. It is a material-level record, not a certificate for a finished cloth; per-order confirmation is provided on request.
Test Methods We Can Quote Against
Where a buyer needs colour fastness or abrasion data, ISO 105 B02 and ISO 12947-2 are the methods we would test to. They are named here as methods, not as results already obtained for this cloth.

White Chamois Cloth FAQs
Is a white cloth safe to use on dark paint?
Yes, provided the piece is clean and dedicated to the final step. The colour is an inspection aid: any compound dust or tar it lifts is visible at once, so a contaminated cloth is retired before it touches another panel.
Is this real chamois leather?
No. It is a synthetic microfiber chamois: a microfiber non-woven base with PU, finished with a chamois pile. It contains no animal material and does not need the soaking routine a natural chamois does.
Which thickness should I take for glass and for paint?
0.8 mm suits glass and tight interior work, 1.0 mm is the general detailing gauge, and 1.2 mm carries more water for body panels and wheels. Many buyers order two gauges rather than compromise on one.
Can the cloth be washed and reused?
Yes. Wash separate from linting fabrics, without fabric softener, and dry before storing. Softener coats the pile and reduces what the cloth can pick up, so it is the one thing to keep out of the process.
Do you supply cut pieces or only full rolls?
Both. The roll is 150 cm wide, and pieces are cut to your drawing. Piece size, packing and quantity are quoted together, because they change the cutting plan.
Request a White Chamois Swatch
Tell us the gauge, the piece size and the surface it will work on. We send the swatch first, so the decision is made on the cloth rather than on a photo.
